98 GT Zaskar LE seatpost size

Got my dad’s old gt Zaskar Le. The seat-post is too short for me. He had cut it down so no size on the post. I tried a 27.2 and it’s to tight. So I measured his post with a caliper, and it comes up as 26.8 . No where online do they mention a Zaskar ever being that size.

2 days ago I brought (not arrived yet) a 27.2 Kore seat-post

I think the post size can vary based on year of frame. 26.8 was a common GT post size in the 90s, my RTS all use that size. 27.0 was also used iirc.

I'm sure some zaskar experts will be along shortly with more definitive help.

I've had two 98 Zaskars, (date stamp 97) and both have been 27.2.

Sorted it. 27.2 now fits perfectly .
