I took a 28.6mm post out of this frame and, now I've cleaned post and seat-tube up a bit, it rattles around like a chipolata up the Dartford Tunnel :?

So.. any idea what this should be from the factory??
Next size up is 30.8 ??

The gap doesn't look big enough to be 31.6 but there's still some crap in the tube to come out. .

weird
Could the original have been shimmed :?
I know '98'Clockworks and P7's were 29.6mm shimmed to 26.4mm,could the same apply here?

Pass. . . and I don't have any calipers to measure this properly. . I was hoping it was 31.6 but that's just wishful thinking - the gap doesn't look that big..

Looking at it roughly using my steel rule, it looks like 28.6 but that post is loose as a goose in there. . :?

If you're on friendly terms with your LBS,they may let you try some of the posts from the bikes in for repair

I was there today . . I sort of know the chap who runs the place (but the old boy owner is always about  ) but need to chip along a few times and get chatting before I can ask favours...

This is doing my nut in.. too many niggles
