I did think of doing the Kona in a Paul Smith affair but the painter said it would be very difficult to re create on thin tubes

That car wasn't done by Paul Smith, it's by Jeff Koons.

The positioning of the Kona decal on the downtube spoils an otherwise awesome paint job. I realise it would be difficult to position it correctly due to the flames.

You seem to see the same mistake on many Kona resprays, if it's not the down tube decal being in the wrong position, it's the top tube decal.
It kind of unbalances the whole aesthetic appeal.

Might be a bit anal I know, but this is an anal website I suppose.
