Why the surprise at powder coating? It may look in good shape from the pictures but the original finish was chipped and scratched and needed redoing. Not a big fan of the original silver colour and in homage to my Raleigh Mirage (which is gone but not forgotten) I decided to go with gloss white. I've got the bike part built and I think it looks pretty good. Will get some more pictures posted this weekend.

Cheers,

Col

Aye the paint was kinda scuzzy up close with a few rusty spots and damage to the lacquer. Plus it was only 60 notes for the powder coating :D .

I had my Orange 02 done in White Powdercoat.
Did the £60 include shot/bead blasting?

Aye, blasting and powder coat all for £60. :D Just needed a bit of sanding at the seat tube, headtube and bottom bracket once I got it back.

Nice one :D
I'd love a C16, but realistically I can't warrent one!
I have a '98 orange 02 & a '97 P7 (which I've just finished.) PLUS a '94 Kona Lavadome frame already stripped & ready to build... AND a '84 Dawes Galaxy Tourer, which I won off ebay for £70 complete :D OH yeah, I almost forgot.. I have a GT Timberline Frame/Fork combo also turning up sometime next week :D Damn this Retrobike stuff... I love it!

ps love the White that you've had the bike painted in.. Will look forward to the progress

Haha, this retrobike stuff does tend to get out of hand somewhat. That's quite a collection you've got there. I'll add some further updates tomorrow now that I've got the bike part assembled.
