95? Marin Team frame numbers?

Need a Marin expert for this one,

I'll be starting this as a project shortly, I believe this is a 95 Marin Team, it's a great frame that's for sure, the frame number is 9511 which is not the standard numbering, is there anyone out there who can shed some light on it?

No reason it would not be a team frame (either team) as it also has the hallmarks of a Marin and a Team

Yes but, I've picked up on something you quoted on another thread,

"I believe they are the same frame apart from 1 little thing,
Team Marin has some rackmounts added on the seat stays (in 1992)
Team Issue does not"

is that the same for 95?

It seems genuine enough, for what i can see. the delta bottle bosses and cable routing/guide location suggest a team marin. But the serial number seems incomplete. ought to have 'F' at the front and definitely a '1' after the 'F'.

Have a skeg to see if the stamping is faint or been covered up in some way.

And see if a 27.2mm seatpost fits just right, that's the actual size for teams (1995).

Apart from all that, sometimes the serials on marins don't always tally up. it's a known phenomenon across the years and models.
I'd be happy to bet 50p on it being a genuine team from 1995 though

Rackmounts will probably be the same, that was a year specific search. Search for pictures and you'll see they look like yours or not (as does the 96)

Many Thanks, yes the seat post is 27.2 and as you say it looks right, just a strange frame number, my other one is the normal M12 - given its a 92

1992 has rack mounts, 1994 doesn't so I guess 95 doesn't.
You can probably see them or rather the lack of them, in the catalog.

There are rackmounts integrated in the dropout, you can clearly see them. And the other part will be on the canti brace.

Just had a look at a pic of my old '95 team, yes they have rear dropout rack mounts!

Got another in the shed but it's too damn wet to have a look at that one.

I didn't mean the dropout ones. I mean't the seat stay rack mounts.

There aren't any on the later frames.
