'95 Kona Kiluaea - Fork Specs

I have a 20" '95 Kona Kiluaea Race Light I'm slowly rebuilding to factory spec, but I'm stuck on a fork.

According to Bikepedia and other catalog sources, it came with a P2 or a Marzocchi XCR fork.

If I want a period correct P2, what crown-to-axle length should I look for? Was it a triple butted fork? And a steerer, uncut preferably, but is it threaded or not, I'm not certain? I have a Syncros stem on it right now, but I do have a Kona titanium Control Stem sitting waiting to be swapped.

If it's an XCR, again what size/travel/c2a should I be looking for? I have a Bomber Z2 off a '98 Blizzard, but the head tube length is too short.

Thanks in advance...

Re:

'95 Kila should have come with 410 a-c P2's and yes they would have been Triple Butted.

Think they would have been threaded - was later that Kona switched to headset (happy to be corrected), as for steerer length, not sure, but if it's a 20" frame, quite long - I feel sure someone will be along shortly with the answer.

Re:

Hi,

XCR has 2" travel, dimension axel - crown bottom is around 410mm, like most of this forks in the 90's, weight is 1339gr. You can adjust the damping in 6 steps.

Marzocchi sold this fork using press-in and other crowns, where the steerer is clamped using 2 screws. You can use 1", 1 1/8" and 1 1/4" steerer.

I have some in my boxes including all sort of steerer and spare parts, I even have new stanchions tubes.

Thanks kraeMit.

How much difference is there between an XCR and a Z2? I have a Z2 left from an older bike. Can I use that, or does it through the dimensions and angles out of whack?

Edit: Seems that the Z2 has a crown to axle length of 438mm, so a bit longer than the 410mm I'm after.

Yes, and the Z2 has more travel. Manuals are available on the net.
