I know its an old question, but I decided to convert my cindy bact to cantis last night as it had been running a temp v brake setup.
Im going with my dia compe 986's and front ones are fine, work great too.
The problem is the rears,Im using the metal dog collar (the one with the dog logo on it) and have set the cantis up correctly and routed the cable through the guide.
The friction is terrible where the cable rubs on the guide to the point that im getting shavings of alloy on the cable. Also the cable dosnt come down straight to the hanger!! Is this how it was due to the position of the cable guide?
I just want it to be nice and smooth like the front as i love the look of the 986's on the bike. If not I will have to go back to the V brakes!!, or have i done something totally wrong!!
