I've had my Alibi since new (possibly the first in the UK) in November '97 and it's always intrigued my to discover how the otherwise identical steel and ally frames compare.

You might find the rides are surprisingly similar between the two, as the Alibi is atypical for an aluminum frame. With the Alibi, I think Ibis tried to tune the frame to mimic the steel Mojo. The cnc connection of the chainstay to bottom bracket on the Alibi helps takes out the typical harshness from the ride.

Did that curse rub off on me the day I met you ? :D

Re:

There is no curse; he's just a gormless clutz! :P

If anyone could help me with this; my m950 rear hub needs a freehub dust seal. These were never available as spares but other 8 speed versions might fit (I'll get proper dimensions next week). I had ordered some from Morning Star, but with the sad demise of Paul nothing is shipping for the foreseeable future and I'm loathe to push his relatives too hard to help me out!

"Sorry for your loss but please would you complete this order...?", seems a touch insensitive, even for me!
