I was a huge fan of the revolution, the e-stay bike. I had one back in the day with full m900, but it got stolen... now I have another one!
I think I might have the original cataloge somewhere with your bike in it, I'll try and hunt it out for you.

Scans of the '94 cattledog would be great if you can find it. I'm stalking the Revolution in Dunedin on Trademe at the moment... :twisted:

Funny you should ask... I've just kicked off the 'rebuild the Lightning' project. It's in a bit of a sorry state at present (see below)........

It's in better condition than my Tuatara. I had e-mailed Avanti to see if they could tell me anything about it but I never got a reply.

Someone on here told me that it was a '92 but they didn't seem to know what spec it had originally. Apparently it came in a metallicy grey with purple decals and purple with grey decals like mine.

If you can give me any more info on this I'd be grateful.

Sorry you didn't get a reply to your questions but few Manufacturers/Suppliers would be able to answer questions about their 18-20 year old models! The Tuatara was produced in '92 & '93. If memory serves, the '92 was gunmetal grey & the '93 was a rusty orange/red. Both came equipped with a full LX 21 speed groupset, Zoom Brahma bar (like the Scott AT-2), cr-mo quilled stem & alloy pillar, and a Selle Prima, cr-mo railed, leather covered racing saddle. The '92 came with rigid, curved unicrown forks & the '93 came with tange Struts suspensin forks.

Your bike has had a respray & new decals somewhere along the way. I may be able to get someone from the Auckland orifice to scan the apropriate pages from the '92 & '93 cattledogs if I ask nicely. I'll see what I can do...

BTW I was told that the Tuatara was made with the purple but that it was a rarer colour. Not sure how accurate that is as I hadn't heard of Avanti until I got this frame.

I really bought it for the Manitous, but when I got it I thought that it was an unusual style of frame. Purchased off eBay for the grand total of £25 including shipping.

My bad. Didn't know they ran on into '94. Was that the purple one?

l've just picked up an Avanti Hammer frame in orange from my mate for free. Looks in good condition and seems well made and almost Kona like . Couldn't find out much on google about Avanti so was pleased to find this recent thread on here. Does anyone know where in the range would it have sat?
