93 stumpy....

Devout Dirtbag
I have decided to have the poor wee beastie done up proper. A stupid decision by any rational measure, but well.. (I'm like an old lady who can't walk past a donkey or a kitten) But I am still conflicted. Are those saddles ever available for less than one would pay to release one's own child from ransom? ("Prolong, made for Specialized in Italy by Selle Italia (or Selle San Marco) Leather/TI (!!!!)?
Any chance of handlebars? Shiney shiney silvery? And a stem? 22.2, also shiney sivery?
I am going to have the paint done...... (dunno why, but hey?) And the brake levers are worn. They were black, now, by proper use show the alu under. Worth getting "done" or leave? All is Deore XT. With luck, it will look something like this:

Currently, it looks like this, ie as if someone has had a go at it with a 12 bore:

I quite like the 'beater' look to be honest, would probably build it up as-is and thrash about on it!

Re:

Always had paint issues on these early M2's. Love these frames. I agree, the patina looks great as is. Your choice though, look forward to seeing the finished article. Have you checked closely for cracks in the frame? An unfortunate suffering of these early frames.
