93 Cinder Cone

By process of elimination, I *think* it's a 1996. And the 2 different fonts on the frame decals are correct:

Not a 1993 (2-tone fade)

Not a 1994 (the lovely copper metallic)

Not a 1995 (turquoise metallic)

Not a 1997 (dark blue matte)

That leaves 1996, but I can't find any pictures...

From Bez at KonaRetro:
"Down tube logo in a square serifed typeface, top tube text is 'jungle style'? 95-96."

So, 1996 it is.
No rear cable guide on the top tube.
Crossover year for decals (newer style logos on the top tube).

What would we do without Kona Retro?
We REALLY need to archive it here, if possible.

1996 indeed - the dreaded Curve canti's give the game away. The paint is also a more matt finish than shows in the pictures

Apologies for saying 93, I don't know where I got that from, but anyway I hope you enjoyed the research project DM! [And I agree about K Retro]

I still think it's a genuine bike or I wouldn't have pointed it out, but just a slight concern that the top tube decal looks the right colour in some of the images, but almost white in others. Going for £97 at the mo and worth more than that (especially with £15 worth of drinks cage!)

Hmm, £155 is more like it. Three bids in the last eight seconds, that's getting towards a proper auction IMO.
