You don't appen to know what the c'dale went for he had?He had quite a lot of nice things

I take it that was a 19.5, so way too big for me, fortunately.

Seems very cheap, would you say c£135 total price, delivered to your door? But I guess not quite good enough condition for a man of your discernment? I don't think they painted them to quite the same standard as Explosifs, I feel sure you'll agree.

Yep, it was a biggy.
Likely be considerably more than £135 when you get stung for VAT/Duty/handling/exchange rates etc.

Not sure what you mean re the Kona. A bike which is iconic in no small part to its paintwork, when the paintwork is faded, scratched and rusty, its just an old bike.

Would you have sprayed it then, or just learned to love it as it was? Personally of course I think there's nothing wrong with being old and a bit battered :( , so I'm always biased towards repairing, cleaning and polishing, rather than throwing old things in the trash

I do think that you see more paint bubbles and rusty tubes on RMs and Fats than Konas though, but I expect you'll tell me they just get more serious use.

Or just more constant use... You don't buy an RM just use it now and then to pop to your mates

My one of those cracked at the braze where the seatstays joined the seattube. It was fixed under warranty - the UK importer said at the time that not enough braze had been used when it was built.

Absolutely beautiful frame to look at, and the rigid ritchey forks that came with it had the same speckle as the black paint which looked brilliant.
