Retro Newbie
Hi,
I've recently been reunited with my fathers old Gary Fisher Procaliber (well the frame at least) but struggling slightly with what to do with it. I was going to build it up with correct period kit, but just don't have the time or space to do so at the moment. It's number 7 of what I believe was a run of 20 that year and the last proper steel framed Fisher before he sold to Trek.
If memory serves it's an 18" frame. Again, slightly hazy on this but I think my father replaced some of the decals in the late 90's. When he died in 2006 it went to an old friend who recently returned it to me. I'm not entirely sure what's become of the rest of the bits but believe that the groupset and wheels were both in need of replacing at the time it went.
Anyway, It's not pristine - My father bought it in 93 or 94 from someone who had imported it from the US at the time. He rode it occasionally over the next decade before becoming ill. It's got quite a few chips and scratches, but there are no dents or cracks in the frame.
It's also got what I believe to be the original White Industries Titanium BB still in place and a Control Tech post.
I'm really not sure what to do with it - I don't have time to build it, but I don't want to leave it in the shed for 5 years either.
I just wanted to gauge what level of interest there might be in this? I've tried doing some digging, but clearly they don't come up very often!
I've included a few pics - very happy to provide others. I've also included what I think is the only one I have of it built up with my old Beast of the East alongside it.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Ols
