Guys,

Just got hold of a '92 Cannondale M1000 frame and am at a bit of a loss as to what to do about brakes for it.

The seatstays have got the extra bridge for the force 40 set up, the forks are missing the roller for the fronts.

It's not gonna be a '92 specific build, so can I just fit a set of V Brakes and be done with it, or will I need to source some bits???

I fitted cantis to my 92 M1000 and then changed to V's after only one ride.

The force 40 rockers were way too fiddly to get and keep perfectly adjusted for me.

Fit some V's and enjoy riding it, oh and pop some pics up too

canti hanger for the front (sjs cycles do them)
and a cable adjuster in the rear cable bridge like this

ignore the roller cams , you get the idea

Cantis' on my SM800, but that's standard as it's a '91 which pre-dates the Force 40. I had Force 40s on my 1993 Beast which were frankly.. 'hateful'!

Loving what Mikee's done on that silver SE with the tidy little hanger.. makes great use of the boss on the Pep's 8)
