91 GT Karakoram frame weight

Anyone know the weight of a 16" (GT sizing) frame weigh by chance?

Dunno whether this helps, but my 20" '91 Karakoram Elite weighed 2,580g newly powdercoated and with a fair bit of framesaver in it.

That reasonably means that the 16" would weigh between in the region of 16/20 of that - just an edge over 2kg - with the same treatment. So guesstimate 1600-1800g?

Nah…that would make it a sub 4 pound frame and it certainly isn't anything near that.

I owned a 91 Karakoram Elite a couple of years back in 16" flavour and must have been around 28-29 pounds fully built up. These were very sturdily built with a plain gauge rear triangle - I reckon about 5 and a bit pounds for frame only would be about right

Nope. You can't make that comparison reasonably because the 16" frame isn't a *reduced in all dimensions* version of the 20" frame. It just has 2" less seat tube, and a gnats cock shorter top and down and head tube.

The only way to know is to weigh it. Or alternatively we could all play guess the weight of the baby.

My bet is on 2187g
