Sadly I will now have to sell this on...I really wanted one of these as a 13 year old kid back in the day but as the company I work at has been passed on to another owner I doubt I'll have the time to finish it properly right now, with a new boss in the place! It will also most likely be a bit small for me having been sold to me in error as a 19 inch version, see below:

So...what you will receive is as follows :)

1991 Diamond Back Axis frame and original fork, 17.5 inch c to c. Was the second top of the line model offered at the time, lovely black paint with white splatter, true to the era. Tubing is true temper OX ultra II, forerunner to OX platinum I believe! The frame is free from dents and is straight, I've removed most of the aftermarket decals already, some gunk and 'oakley' sticker remains but that should clean off okay. There's some usual bits of paint missing in the normal areas but being black they can be touched up easily.. Bad point is that the alloy seatpost is stuck, I've opened out the seat clamp a little to have a quick look and I reckon it will shift with a bit of effort though. The original tange bottom bracket is fitted and spins fine, the axle feels a bit loose and it would benefit from a regrease.

Original Tioga headset, Prestige T-bone stem and Avenir branded true temper bar, the bar has been hacked down pretty short and looks a bit rusty inside so it's probably junk. I'll also throw in a nice alloy Ritchey Force Lite bar recently purchased on here for the project though...

And the best bit, a slew of original M732/4/5 XT parts as original spec for the bike.. Chainset with original rings, push push STI shifters, full set of low profile cantis, and both front and rear mechs. Also there's some XT low pro pedals! All were working when removed from the bike.

Everything needs a good clean, lube and fettle as expected but there's a great basis for a cool build...there's some chaps on here with similar era DB's and all comment on how nice they ride!

To cover what I have spent on this so far I'll sell the lot for £75 collected or £85 posted in the UK. Although I could I don't want to split because I would love to see this finished off as per original and posted up to follow on the thread I started, this model doesn't seem to crop up very often! Paypal gift, cheques of bank transfers all good, pics below 8)[/b]

Have to admit I am tempted by this having sold the Fox, but I already have one highend 'mainstream' bike. The only thing my wife will sanction now is an Attitude in team colours  .

Carl.

Such a shame to get rid of  I would kindly have it in the bike home (like a dogs home but less mucky and smelly) but have no room.

I would love to put my name down for STI units and levers, plus chainset if you do decide to break into spares :D

Cheers

Yep it's a wrench to lose this...I've been having to move on a few things stashed at the workplace lately but really wanted to keep this :(

I'll bear in mind any interest in the parts but in the meantime offer for the whole lot stands :)

I must admit im tempted but the stuck seatpost sacres me! :(

x2

and after getting my fingers burnt on the Ground Control last year I'm not going there again.

Shame, as its a nice looking frame.

this is now officially DEAD....after 3 days,15 hacksaw blades,2 saws, bottle of ammonia, bottle of caustic soda, can of loctite freeze, large hammer,chisel,3,000,000 swear words and 3 knuckles later this seatpost is not coming out....it was never corroded but was the wrong size i think and hammered in by some f * c k i n g idiot.
SCRAP.
