91-92 Kona Hei Hei + XTR M900

Hi all retrofriends and Kona fans.

I'm lucky to own this beautiful frame which was little used and in perfect condition. But because never everything is perfect unfortunately is not my size  .
I already have one Hei Hei from 95 in size 18 which fit perfect for me but i find it hard to separate from this beauty 91-92 which is to big for me because is 20 so I decide to start a build...and in this case the logical consequence is that I try to put it together with a XTR M900 groupset which is from same era and which I alway want.It would be ideal if I could find someone who own the same era frame in same perfect condition with original noodle but in size 18 to trade. We will see in future.
I decided not to polish it and leave it in this beautiful oxidized matt look for which only time can be earned :D
I will start with some pictures of the frame and M900 headset which I started to revive.

Very nice! Always admired these Konas. Hopefully one day I will own one myself

Looking forward to seeing this progress :xmas-big-grin:

Oooooh lovely. My size too. I have nothing to trade, but slide into my DMs if you have a price for the frame. I won't have the money, but there's no harm in doing so... :-)

PS. That is a heckin good lookin workshop. I'm assuming it's not you personal one, given the amount of tools you have? If so, that's a passionate collection of tools. :D

Thanks mate. I'm a fan of kona's too and that's why it's hard to give it up, especially from this 92 model.

Out of curiosity is that a bike shop workshop or just your bike cave ?

Looks just the ticket. I'm impressed :xmas-big-grin:

I honestly didn’t think about the sale price. I prefer to trade for the same frame. Of course, in addition to the same frame, there is also a desire for some adroit or attitudi, but I would also like some zaskar le 93 purple...in any case always in my size. Just the frame or when the whole bike assembly is complete for the complete bike with a reasonable surcharge from both side.

The workshop is located in my shop as I own a bike shop. Assembling 90's mtb's is a nice winter relaxation

Yes, it's bike shop workshop :D
Thanks.

Because I have only 73mm xtr bottom bracket I had to find an alternative. So I found this one which I forgot I even had. I don't know if it's home-made because I didn't find write any brand. The axle looks titanium, total weight without bolts is 140g. Interestingly, there are two sealed bearings on one side. I assume they go to the gear side and so i mounted them in that way...

Re:

I think the BB is a Tune - they use double bearings on the drive side and the bizarre extra-long bolts (which you have to use because the threads are deep within the axle).
