'80s Marin

My first 'proper' bike

I graduated from a Raleigh Mustang to this bike in 98, then I went on to a Fisher Paragon, etc....

Cool.

8hrs to go....

Someone needs to give this old timer a good home... I would, but I am side tracked on trying to acquire a Klein at the moment... :D

Might have a punt - I can collect from Soton OK. Bit worried about losing more space in the garage though.

Just re-read it and seen that the post is stuck. Really can't be arsed in that case. Shame. :(
I couldn't understand that. To me there's no such thing as a stuck post, but were these earlier ones steel? Steel stuck in steel I can believe, but aluminium no - stubborn maybe, but not stuck.

I've read lots of horror stories on here about stuck posts - aluminium in steel included. If it was a 'grail' bike then sure, I'd be prepared to do what it takes.

Anyway, the contact point of two different metals tends to generate a metallic reaction which can result in corrosion as far as I am aware?
