all you need is the shimano tool to take the axle out . once the axle is out unscrew the bolt at the end of axle which maintains the bearings in place .
Did you not get the instructions with the NOS pedals? It is quite easy, especially once you've done it like 5 times or more, but oh my god don't loose those bearings.
Also do you have alu collars? If not you will have to be extremely careful putting the plastic ones back in.
Tightening the cup and cones on the axle is a nightmare without the right Shimano tools, i stripped a pair once and forevermore had to keep retightening the bearings :roll:
I am sure I may have a couple of pairs of after market NOS Cro Mo axles and a couple of NOS pairs of those purple collars, will have to have a look now, I think I may even have NOS specialized BB axles and such.
