7 speed casette on newer freewheel

As I remember it this ios quite possible but will need a spacer behind the casette. Is that correct? and are they still available nowadays?

yes, yes and yes. ebay or a good lbs. shimano still offer 7spd cassettes
 
Was gonna post a similar question, :D However, do you know if its possible to use part of an old cassette as a spacer? (The plastic rings between cogs)

Most places do 7 speed cassettes. Bikes with them are common enough. So long as the spacer is 4.5mm it should work.

Coolio I've got a 7 speed Cassette and running it on a Hope hub, so needs a spacer, will have a play :)

I need one. I wondered about the thickness, I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere, but the pitch was listed somewhere. 4.5mm for 7 speed and 4.3mm for 8 speed[thats from memory, it a few weeks since I looked for it], so the spacer would need to be 3.1mm wouldn't it?
I was going to open the old cassette up and have a look at the spacers, not that it's much trouble to make some ali ones in any width, as long as I have the ali.
