Re: 6k on a grey box. What would you buy?

Thank you but not necessary. I'm not exactly guilt free on that one.

Anyway, the things that are commonly available really don't inspire. I'm ending up looking at least worse options. Decided must be dealer sale for protection (of sorts) as I can't afford to screw up and will be relying on service history etc as modern stuff is a mystery. Would be nice to part ex the Passat for ease. Not worth the hassle of sale.

We have just replaced the Dafty Doblo with an Elegant Elgrand

3.2 diesel and actually not as bad on fuel on the journey home as I feared.

I want a Honda but the local dealer is on rogue traders.

That is awesome! Is it 4x4? I must get on with the Delica before all the snow is off the hills.

So Mr History, are you chasing the Honda? I hear nothing much bad about the Civic, it would be a great car to own I reckon.

Mrs HM is coming around to something bulbous so Honda looking good also.

Will go dealer though I think, unless absolutely solid history etc.

We shall have a few rides next week.

So many opportunities for the standard double entendres there.

The Honda does have Marmite styling I guess, but Honda is a name I strongly associate with total peace of mind ownership. That alone has made me decide our next estate will be a Honda. I can't believe we don't have an estate car right now, the first time in over twenty years. Or a Nissan. Stagea again in my mind.

Just back from a ride up to Broadway then across to Evesham. Stopped at the ford and VW dealers and had a mooch about the used cars. I was struck by the increased size of everything. Polo is an old golf, fiesta an escort and so on. The mondeos are granadas!
