threaded or not is fine. preferably milled for recessed brake nut. looking not to spend heaps so scratched up and/or slightly rusty is ok, as long as it's straight. thanks if you can help- it's so hard to find such long ones!

You are looking for 531 forks as reynolds never made forks in 653 or 631......You could also look for Columbus SL or SLX forks.

653 decal is misleading....the tubeset was a mix of 753 and 531....including 531 forks....now Reynolds steel forks are chromoly....so if you bought a BJ 631 frame the main tubes are 631 but everything else is chromoly.

thanks, i understood that the Reynolds R fork blades are chromium-molybdenum.. guess am after a 631 [or SLX] fork then.

No 631 forks either.....531 [very good] or Columbus SL or SLX.....but nothing wrong with Reynolds R forks.
