I'd never drink out of anything which is made of alloy! Been told you can get a type of Cancer by drinking liquids that has been stored in alloy cans!

Read the Daily Wail tomorrow and it'll probably cure cancer too! 
Most modern bottles are lined with plastic, though. In the case of SIGG and Earthlife ones, I think it's pretty good BPA-free plastic. Still best not to scratch the inner if you can avoid it and I prefer not to put anything sugary or acidic in them.
Thanks to the suggestion of Roy's, but that's still a hundred mile round trip... I'm right over the West edge of Norfolk.

not sure if this has been flagged up before? Looked them up after a fellow cyclist gave me 2 yesterday complete with h/bar cages, circa 1950's well worn from his racing days .

As already said you can remove the coating . then drag behind your bike to get a beat up look .
Or as here keep finish add head badge decal { what ever your bike is .SAV is best . Add japlac to seal . Replace stopper with cork .

I did see this a while ago, its a shame they couldn't raise the funding. I kind of think if they tried again now it would be more successful.

Must be a very early Mercian decal to mention Crother and Barker, where did you find that?

The bottle pictured is for a mate who bought my old Mercian pictured here {typing error by me, not mine any longer :cry: }.

Its frame number is 444 making a very early one . I think it will go well with the bike .
The decal as far as I know is no longer available { a chap from Nottingham used to make/have them made .
