3x8 shifters

I am fixing up a GT RTS for my uncle and need a new set of shifters, I said I would up it to 8 speed instead of 7 speed since the cassette and chain need replacing as well as one of the shifters. Does anyone have any, doesn't need to be anything fancy, been bidding on a few stx ones on ebay but keep losing in the last few seconds of auction .

i have some xt rapidfire ones up for grabs. in good condition with all the rubbers intact.they shift perfect and are black in colour

How much are you after for the XT ones? May be a bit past my price range.
