32 or 36 hole wheels?

I like to think 32 are stronger than 36h in that theres more metal between the hole spacings on the flanges

Just to be different

A one spoke wheel would be the strongest then wouldn't it

Cus your moving less spokes through the air!!!

But that doesn't neccessarily make it more aerodynamic as the spokes are roughly on the same plane and will be cutting through each others turbulence, closer spoking could be a benefit in this case.

36 spoke wheels are easier to true as each spoke supports a shorter section of rim than 32 hole.

My Roval Pave wheels on my Tricross are a nightmare to true sometimes (24/20 spokes).

In general, the less spokes in a wheel the heavier a rim has to be for the wheel to have the same strength.

My ATB wheels are all 36 hole as that allows me to be creative with the spoking patterns too.
