Hi All.

Here we have 3 XTR bottom bracket mount front mechs.
2 of them are NOS (one of them has a carbon bracket, other is an aluminium bracket i think), and the 3rd is very mint but has been fitted to a bike and has very light chain marks but also has a carbon bracket.

Pics below:-

FD-M950, Bottom Pull, carbon bracket, very mint - £30 - SOLD

Do you know if these can be fitted if your using a standard BB? Ive got full XTR set up but running Cooks cranks and would like matching XTR front mech, from memory thought they only fitted on the splined XTR BB? Any thoughts??

I beleive that they can be fitted to any bottom bracket although I think that there is also a specific bottom bracket for them.

I'll check the documentation later to see if there is any additional information.

Cheers.

I was told that you have to have a e type bottom bracket for these as they have a mounting tab that a your screw, bolt the mech on with with that small holw through the carbon near the bottom, however after speaking to my lbs as I wanted one for my bike was told that he's seen ones to a normal bottom bracket and they've been fine. However the bottom bracket would need a flange, the reason why I can have one is the hold hope ones don't have a flange so would be absolutely nothing to old the mech on with :-(

Yes you are correct with the e type BB.

However I have measured the right hand shell of a tapered shimano cartridge BB and it measures 38mm, the hole for the BB mounting on the mech measures 35mm so it will fit a standard tapered shimano cartridge BB.

However one thing I though about is the width of the front mech mounting bracket itself. It measures 2.5mm which means that your left hand crank arm would be 2.5mm closer to the chainstay.
I guess that this would not be a problem if your axle is of a sufficient length.
