3 Large Bags of Vintage & Classic Bike Parts

oddly devoid of oil, tar and general gronk though, its all junk but relatively clean junk - looks like someone hoarded this thinking it would somehow be useful at some point. I am often saddened by the detritus that appears on FB marketplace

Ideally one day you'll be able to feed this image into an AI tool and it'll give you an itemised list of all the components in frame. Problem is AI only works on being fed what information is available, which is generally limited to what information is mainstream, which a misc bag of bits isn't.

If only AI powered search tools were that useful, with the advent of GEO, they are far more likely to return both a misleading and factually incorrect set of hypotheses and targeted advertising in equal measure and will soon render themselves as useless as the the SEO trained services that they are trying to usurp. It would be possible for velobase (or similar) to provide an API to query but who would fund the work and the quality of photos are pretty poor and lack the images taken from multiple view points that would be needed to build a recognition system based on baysian maths and deep learning alas. I did hear of someone in the Nordic countries who was creating a tool that could produce CNC output for manufacturing any parts from good quality images, but being able to find pre-existing matches of parts for sale on eBay etc. would be a pretty impractical challenge when people are posting such poor images of their items for sale and whose reflection is sitting in their underpants while they do so etc. Cynic? Moi?
