Are they any good? What price to spend to get a good one? Could it make a model of my Trimble?

You could make an awesome model of your bike! 3D printers are getting seriously affordable now, an idea I would like to revisit.

You could also model it in one of a number of freely downloadable programs and take it to a printers of course.

Hadn't thought of that. I noticed that I can buy models of cars, motorbikes but not cycles. Would be nice to have a large scale model of famous rides e.g. Big Mig's winning machine etc etc

Very.

What do you mean by "good"? Ropey plastic parts that need sanding and finishing properly and aren't really good enough for proper use (3-4 hundred quid last time i looked, somewhere like hobbyking to buy a kit). Or high quality near net pieces in high quality plastics that you could actually use (10 thousand plus, might need to contact a proper supplier?) or even metal parts (lots, as a company we spent several million euros setting up a prototyping workshop, about 75% of the cost was three 3D printers that could handle metals and all the related infrastructure.)
Could it make a model of my Trimble?
How good a model do you want!

A cheapy from hobbyking will do then. It'll look like a trimble. But you'll have to build it in blocks. Think the max volume is something like 150x100x200.

You could make a Trimble using fibreglass and a mould then it will be exactly like the real thing.

just like the late 80s version then. Fancy a dust collector about 1/12th scale? depending on the 3 D printer and other variables. For my mantle piece and desk at work. Shame the companies like Airfix etc don't make model cycles. Graham Obree track bike would be a popular kit or diciest model.

will look in it Ta :D

That's if they are working.
They can easily not work and you'll need to get into them to play.
Nozzles block, plastics (even PLA) vary, plastic doesn't quite bond at you get lots of plastic string and then fun times unblocking.
and then when it starts to getting better prints, optimisations (I see the Dremel is quite rough as standard it has that 3D printed look.)

They are fun though, you can pick up build your own kits (kossels, prusa's) for 150 to 250 and you'll learn a lot if you are into that sort of thing.

I've just jammed my build it kit up as I updated the firmware and a cooling fan didn't auto come on, it's no fully bunged up with plastic, so time to dismantle and try and clean the hotend and nozzle. (cheaper to actually buy one really.)

can be fun fun fun though.

someone local might be able to print what you want
