Anyone use one of these new fangled 27.5" mtb wheels on the front of their mountain bike, i've heard of some people using 29 er wheels up front instead of suspension. Just wondering how it handles

Just wondering how it handles

Badly I should think.......

do you mean a 29er wheel? in which case you need a 29er frame to put it in! sounds like you're thinking of the Trek 69er (I think) 29 wheel at the front, 26 at the rear?

Not so sure it would be so bad - Back in the day we put on 2inch travel suspension forks on to non-suspension adjusted frames, no complaints there infact I still have that set up. You would need a set of forks in the right size of course.

Yes both jango and I are refering to the 29er wheel, it probably has a smaller rim (27.5 sounds right) as the size I think comes from addition of the tyres.

we are?

'hello - is that Halfords? I DEMAND a 650B bike please...'

No , nobody is stupid...................Steve Worland is said to ride a 26" bike with a 29 " wheel up front.......................i was wondering if the gentler size of 27.5 might have benifits................ie more stable, a bit like years ago when we all ? ran a fat tire up front and a smaller one on the rear
