Re: 26.8 and 27.0 seatposts

I can understand why you'd want to take a chance with buying either of the two diameters, but what length would you like? I might have a 26.8mm post going spare.

Re:

Longer the better, but more so I can check the size. And then buy a better one if I want. Needs to be 300mm min

I'm with you. Here's a few pics of a basic Post Moderne post:

BTW whilst searching for the above, I also turned up a rare Suntour XC post I'd forgotten I had. It's the 27.0 size, so I guess only if the Post Moderne one's no good then you'd consider it. Other than that, I must say I'm particularly glad I bothered to reply to your ad, since I wouldn't have turned up the post otherwise, and I just so happen to have just opened a sales thread with just this kind of kit:)

Re:

Cool, let me know here or pm what you were after. Have a few offers on ebay as well to compare

Re:

Well i spent an hour googling and 27.2 is what I need apparently. Spent some time cleaning the seattube out properly and guess what? 27.2 fits.

So thanks very much but not needed now.

OK, well the main thing is that you're checking everything thoroughly. Some people think the 27.0 size is correct only to find they they overtighten the bolt/the seatpost moves in the frame, so you're saved that now. And like I say, I'm glad to have discovered a nice seatpost whilst trying to help you out, so must be karma:)

Re:

Yes definitely. I had to melt the old seatpost out with caustic soda so it was a little rough inside. All cleaned out now and a nice fit so I'm glad I took the time.

Do really appreciate your offer though. Hopefully you can sell them easily enough.
