Any problems in fitting 24" wheels in a frame designed to take 26 ?, i cant think of any but wondering if there is something i've missed :?
The idea of fitting the smaller wheels is to reduce the standover height.
Bike in question is this Club Roost DH8 (i recently bought as a bare frame)
I've seen 24" wheeled Specialised Big Hits with special shorter rear ends, wondering if i can get away with the standard rear on the DH8 ?.
Bike will have disc brakes, forks will be upsidedown Marzocchi Shivers (like the ones in the pic) so a 24" tyre in the forks shouldnt be a problem, tried a 26x2.35 tyre in the rear moved back two inches, it catches the V brake bosses which will be removed, it's a bit tight in at the chainstays (where they pinch in) but i'll get away with it, with 26" wheels the BB height was something like 14"
so that can cope with coming down 2" no problem.
Anything i've not thought about ?
