23mm tubs on 18m rims?

I'm getting to grips with some tubs and have bought cheap 23mm Vittoria rallys to get me up to speed with gluing etc, but pulling out my sprint wheels, they're narrower than I thought: 18mm Wolber Profil.

So, will I be okay running the 23mm tyre on the 18mm rim or will I surely perish?

No worries, as long as the tub is no more than than 1.6x the rim width. Folk ride 32mm CX tubs on 20mm rims at low pressures so a 23mm tub at high pressure presents little problem.

I've got an old Vitttoria CG (about 22mm I think) on a Mavic CX18 rim, it hasn't come off yet!
