I've a couple of rides pencilled in for January, one will be a repeat of last years Withernsea to Spurn Point route and the other hopefully will see us join up with our neighbours once again for the Scarborough to Robin Hoods Bay Rail Trail.

The rest of the year is still to be planned so lets hear what you liked from this years calendar and any ideas for new routes for 2014.

I'm more than happy for anyone to lead a ride but please remember myself, Trebz or Longun need to be present on the ride and if the route is to be entered into the calendar it needs to be recce'd and ready to ride with thought given to parking and food stops and if I'm coming its probably wise to have a pub at the end

Over to you lot then and lets make it a great 2014!

Withernsea to Spurn Point is a must in my opinion as it follows my idea of making rides that little bit different. Remember how alien the landscape became when the mist came in. Brilliant ride.

I have also mentioned to a few people that I'm going to host another Hull Urban ride. The route covered my myself, Chris and Nigel is good, covering the Hull docklands, part of the Trans Pennine Trail and Hull old town. A bit of history and a change of scene.

I'll also be giving you all the opportunity of tagging along with me on more of my two day cycling tours with camping thrown in. Some of you have shown interest and I know SLM and Nigel are up for it 100%. Nigel is now responsible for the Hull to Hornsea ride. We have completed this two day tour twice now and it's great. He's fine tuning it over winter.

I think we, the LESY group, should look further north. Around the Finbar, Wetwang and Fridaythorpe area. If possible that is. The country side up there is amazing. Forgive me if this encroaches on the North Yorkshire ares. Maybe we can ask the Northern chaps for assistance.

Another suggestion, thrown in by Chris and forgotten. We have to buy a bike on a £25 budget, the purchase must be proven. We will then use this bike for a ride. Possible named 'The Sh*t Bike Ride' or similar.

There's a few seeds planted guys, lets have some more suggestions for 2014.

FYI, next years touring will see me popping over the water. Europe, france or Holland, touring WWII sites. I'll keep you all posted.

It should be WWI aka The Great War you tour next year, not WibbleWibble2 :palm:

Wetwang is easy, there is already a sorted I ride to do. Nice warm weather wanted, not cold and windy grrr.

Alternative rides you say? How about 20 laps of the Humberbridge?

Ride the Viking way (probably a 'tour' you would like to do.
).

Do the WoldsWay from round Malton to the coast?

Night ride at Sherwood.

Frolic round Penistone or possibly Cut Gate/Ladybower.

Depends on how much people can be arsed to travel and/or ride hills.
Though it's going to be hard to stop Spudly next year. Man on a mission to hit 2k and should do it easily.

Hop on the ferry to normandy and those infamous beaches. I've only seen the points of interest on time team and other televised docs, close to home too.

Yes, cut gate falls in the areas postcode. Ride from langsett(free parking) and toilets.
Shoot me down for not being 'ard enuff, but, i would ride cut gate as an out-and-back to ladybower inn as lunch stop, then set off back. For me(ok i'm no super fit adrenaline junkie) but the loop round from the visitor centre to the pub was a real slog and depleted enthusiasm for return journey. Anybody who has done the three tribes in previous years will know what i mean.

Having ridden through there on the way to Northallerton, my only warning about the Wetwang area is that a lot of the bridleways and paths there weren't in very good condition - poor drainage plus a lot of tractor usage meant on some of them I was stopping every couple of hundred meters to free my derailleurs, brakes, wheels from several tons of mud.

Would the £25 budget idea allow for bikes we had already bought for less than that? Because I can't justify adding any others until I have at least made more progress with the ones I have (famous last words).

Well once ive sold my nova ill be out of the car world and into the biking one, ill be wanting to do as many rides as i can, im going to aim for 3000 miles next year, not 2 lol!

Definately the goathland ride as that really was awesome, i want to try my hand (or should i say legs) at the radio mast climb in the peaks, and definately the last of the summer wine ride!

I dont really know too many more as ive not been much of anywhere other than with you guys, but all the rides ive done so far ive really enjoyed, just need the weather more than anything!

This is my idea, IOM TT touring ride, meet at the docks in Liverpool, ferry to the IOM (80 quid return including the racing) 3 nights camping watching the racing and a tour of the island on the bikes. I can sort a campsite out, the TT runs from the 24th of May the 6th of June :D

What do you think
