A stealthy little 1993 carbon fiber number, then no plans.

Going to be a 1991 kona Explosif.

Fraid it will be a scratch build which will look like a dogs dinner at first, but I am to have some fun on the trails I hope before a more sympathetic re-build

Get an intermediate finish on the '91 GT (and ride it :roll: ) before ripping it apart again

I was thinking about this the other day - what build is it now?

It's Thomson stem and post, Bontrager seat, CK headset, Manitou forks, Direct Curve Brakes/levers, Kore bars, Kooka grips, Goodridge brake cables (waiting to be fitted), soon to be black LX cranks (it's currently sporting the tatty ones off the Marin and some cheap-o VP pedals) and I forget what the wheels and tyres are but I got them from (I think) Al and they are black/white... oh and Kronos bottle and chainring bolts..

Not looking forward to doing the cables at all..

And I've yet to ride it

Bit of luck it'll get track ends some time this year.......

DeKerf. Just need to find a frame I can afford now then I'm off.

Could be a long hunt.

Failing that try to find a Bontrager Race or Race Lite.

Made a bit trickier by my short inside leg and the lack of small frames out there.

I have decals for the Zaskar on their way from Blighty. Once they show up the frame will be getting polished and rebadged, Picked up some stuff I had set aside from rummaging in the back room at the LBS today. Hubs, brakes, seat are NOS. Seat is going on the Kona. The 2 Control Tech brakes puts me up to 6 sets, so I'll probably sell off a bike's worth. Pedals and forks are used. Silver P2 is a hard to come by triple butted. Don't know what I'm going to do with them, but having P2s in stock is always good. Going to build one of the White Industries hubs up to match a WI rear wheel I have for the DeKerf. Also need to find an Ahead steerer 1 1/8 P2 to paint match for the DeKerf. DX II pedals are going on the Foes then I'll move the gold DXs over to the Mongoose, and the Suntours from that over to the Kona. That should take care of Q1 of 11.

86' Stumpy for me this year. Delaying starting it so that I dont finish it too quickly and then end up buying something else

I have a '96 Merlin XLM in works but it might be that I won't be completing it during the year.
Biggest things to decide are wheels and brakes and I don't know what to choose for the build...cantis or Vs or even Maguras, which hubs, etc.
Build will be silver and black - no flashy colours to distract attention from the gorgeous frame.

first "project" for me was to get a fulltime job. think i will have one by later today,just waiting for a phone call.
so bikewise it will be get all nine Mountain Cycles 100% together and ride 'em.
also take Kona out and build my "cracking" Manitou and see if the repaired headtude holds up.
