For Sale 2008 Turner Flux frame - medium

Twonks

Dirt Disciple
Hi all. I don't post here often unfortunately but, thought this frame might appeal to somebody here rather than let it go on eBay.

2008 Turner Flux frame in medium. I bought it recently, looking to build up and replace an older Marin for my daughter whom wanted to go out riding again.

Got it built up but made the mistake of letting her ride my much newer Ripmo. She is now the owner of a much newer Norco, so I stripped the Turner down to sell of and keep a few bits in the spares box.

This frame is in good condition for its age and shows no signs of damage or crash marks etc.

The bottom bracket face looks a bit weird in the pictures but seems ok in reality. It built up with a Hope btm bracket ok.
Will leave the Orbit headset in place. Has all the bits apart from top cap and new star fangled nut. Crown race is split to fit easily on forks.

Would like £200 + postage or collection from NW Leicester. I can drive a bit to deliver it if we come to some arrangement first.

Can also build it back into a full bike if somebody is interested. Spec can vary a little but would think it will be about £5 or £600 built up.

Thanks for looking.

I realise it is soon after I posted this but 100 views and no comments makes me think this is either too expensive or nobody wants it - or perish the though, both.

Honest question - what do people think please?

Honest opinion, you did ask for this!

From what I read on these forums people generally aren't interested in anything post 1998. There seems to be a general disdain for newer bikes and modern geometry so you are just better off auctioning it on eBay.

That era of bikes is in a difficult spot at present, its too new for retro, its too old and 26 wheeled for the 'gotta have the latest big thing crowd'.

You'd probably be best sticking it in plastic sheeting in the attic for 10 years and waiting to see if it appreciates, but if its gotta go then don't expect the money it's worth in your head. It's a shame as its an epic bike of its day, a friend has one and still rides it occasionally. Whatever the outcome I wish you the very best of luck with the sale if you choose that path.

you just have to re-color your pictures to look vintage

to make this more adorable!

But seriously, I was clicking on the post, because old Turner bikes are on my i-have-to-have-one-once list.
The one on the picture above is from 1994, i think the model was called FTF Full Time Function, later-on, 1997, Turner had with the Stinger a very nice and iconic bike.

With that, i do agree a bit what was said already earlier, the most here may look for vintage and early mountain bikes.

Still, your frame is very nice, and the offer in my opinion fair. Hopefully someone is building a nice bike out of it.

Thanks guys, appreciate the honesty.
Looks like it might go into the loft rafters alongside my 94 GT Pantera and 2007 SC Superlight frames. Both of these will never be sold as they are special to me, which in itself may be a bit sad - but that’s another story 😂

Advertise on eBay for £250 best offer, you'll easy get £200+

As said above, this is wrong forum really, focussed on the 90s

Great frame, I remember there was a premium once for the Horst Link Turners. FSR Horst link to TNT in 2005 or thereabouts. Over the years this reasoning has equaled out with their d-w link in 09 so the TNT was only available for a few years GLWS

Something that I would say would get snapped up much quicker even though only a few years before would be a lovely Turner Nitrous in GOLD with a worrying weight limit to boot!
