2008 Giant Halfway (folding bike)

Ordering one right bloomin now

The Forge behind us in the yard used to be burly oily men bending large pieces of metal and making large showers of sparks, but the property was sold on and is now "the forge" wedding venue.

Some Saturday evenings, a young man like me is taking his life in his hands running the gauntlet of tipsy revellers at 8pm.
You almost need a humvee to get safely out of the yard!

to right, can't be having all that noise and muck going on in a city centre, these are far more gentrified times thank you very much.

oh and the old forge making stuff as well.

I think it looks good with the guards :) but if you wont use in rain or ever ride through puddles then, or want to fit bigger tyres

It's usually always bloomin wet when I got out so I like them, even today in this heat I still rode through lots of still wet areas up in the hills. Of course you could just let my fit your guards for you, then the bloomin rear one will refuse to stay on anyway so you can still get water and muck all up your back.

I think the folder looks good with them on, might look better with them off though, also taste is very bloomin subjective. I think my own bikes look horrid with a back mudguard on (luckily they refuse to bloomin wear them) front guard is needed though for my rides, gob fulls of "stuff" if not.
Bikes without guards fold and unfold better, and get tangled less.

I agree with Totoro I did like it with the guards on, and truth be told I will make something work.
The 2" Big Apples are probably 10-13mm taller than the 1.5" Marathons they replaced and I didnt expect that to be the case and this hasn't helped the situation.

So anyways I got to the cabin and quickly whipped off her skirts (oooeeer missus)

And there she stands in all her semi naked glory looking like a silver Heather Mills 🤭😎

Must admit, I do like it without the guards on

Christ Tom you're as bad as me 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

So this is the problem the mudguard itself follows the shape of the tyre perfectly and has plenty of room all the way around until it gets to the rear brake mount where the bottom edge of the carrier which sites behind the delta is 6-9mm lower than the supporting/mounting peg behind it (presumably) for strength bit it stops me pulling the mudguard back a few mm,
I suppose the bike was designed without the thought of people wanting fatties on the rims.....
oops did I just blubber shame a tyre 🤭🤔🤣 (the Sturgistan Stasi will have me hate crimed for that)
