2008 Giant Halfway (folding bike)

The "direction indicators" on tyres are there to check if you are an obedient serf of the consumer machine.

Bicycle wrongness?

I think I've seen about everything,
but I ain't seen a marathon slide

Some tyres have the text in different locations on each side.
That's my favourite.
This is dealt with by taking an old inner tuber, cutting it in to at leaat 6 3" peices. Putting a hole about the mid point. Pushing a bolt through the hole of each and arra going them In a circle then loocking them with a nut. Now put the threaded end of the bolt in a drill and tighten.
Spin the home made rubber mop against the text on the tyre to remove it.

Sorted, nothing to line up.

We were having a little debate in the shop about fitting just such a thing - it was a new quality tyre like a conti.
We had recommended it - but we need to ask about the riders ocd first (relatively common amongst our customers, which is a thread in itself, given how we differ to the fancy poloshirt shops and chain store alternatives)

The text position overlapped, so you could have it central one side and well off the valve on the other, or a bit off both sides.

Equally wrong won out.
You can't see both sides at once, but if they are the same, at least it looks deliberate.

Must admit the text or logo position is something I have never thought of, but I can understand how some folks would get a nervous twitch over it.
The tyre text or logo just ends up on the rim where it lands as Im putting it on, it probably looks lazy but hey ho its an old Halfwit being ridden by an even older Halfwit...
