2005 Santa Cruz Heckler

Re:

It's feeling pretty good. Settled on atlas stem and saddle. Thomson post. Diabolous bar. Sram x9. Single narrow wide up front. I think this might be my favorite bike and I haven't even ridden it

Re:

Lovely . . . awesome colour too :P

I've had a couple of Hecklers from that era (one with a 5th Element and one with a fox Float - much preferred the older one with the 5th) - I'd love another. Super-versatile frames and tough as freak.

I just prefer coil shocks in general - I've had a few air shock equipped bikes and although easily tuneable for little people like me, you can't beat the plushness of coil imho. I'm not a weight-weenie by any stretch of the imagination so not too concerned about a heavier shock (to be honest, with a light spring fitted to a basic older Vanilla shock, there's not a lot of difference in weight anyway).

Re:

Good to know. Pretty sure this rear shock needs service. I loved the 5th Element on my Bullit. Real solid shocks. I've always liked coils better but been toying with the idea of a air shock.

Lined up with the Superlight. Just need my cranks to arrive in the mail and ready to ride.

Wow, things have changed a lot in 10 years!

Straight tubes (except for the top tube). No swoopy hydroformed looks like it melted frame here...

I like it!
