Some may remember this frame selling here in the forum some time ago. It was damaged in the plate were the shock attach the front triangle. I decided to take the chance and rebuild it. It will not be with "period correct" components but mostly with parts that I had already or second hand components. I am not a DH rider and this bike is in part for the custom rebuild and also to enjoy some tracks around here.
Currently I have this:
And the problem was here:
I have no idea why someone made that cut and open the last hole for a direct shock mount.
For the next times I will strip the frame and decide how to paint it and for shore it will be a custom paint scheme far from scott ones. About the broken part I will make one like the older one. I'm still thinking if I will make also the small parts that connect the shock to 2 holes in the frame or a custom part.... Above all I will try to respect the frame original holes. Also after all the welding, all the frame will have a x-ray to ensure that all the welds are good done and that there is no more problems in other parts.
For now I have:
- rear shock
- Wheelset
- k7 and crankset
- front fork (and 888 on the way)
Missing me and looking for it:
- front hub 20mm
- dh brakes
- chain protector
- Integrated stem for 888
- handlebar
- Scott bearing set
- Dh headset
- Seatpost and saddle
About brakes I would love to have some Hope 6Ti or something like that but prices are high on them....
