watching with interest. I have the '04 version of this and I really like it. very nice little frame once you get good bits on it.

Re:

For some reason only half of the spokes that I ordered have come. These are the shorter length. The longer length spokes should get here tomorrow. Oh well. I have half laced wheels tonight.

Re:

I got it up on my work bench to adjust the derailleurs and check everything over. I planned to go for a ride after but the trail is under about a foot of water from the rain last weekend.

The rain just keeps coming! This is a school that's not too far from the trails.

Re:

The flood waters have rescinded and I finally got a chance to take it out. The new hubs aren't bad. Don't get me wrong. They're definitely not Chris Kings but but they seemed fine. I won't comment on long term durability as I have ridden on them once. The disc brakes were a pleasant surprise. I was actually impressed with them. Again there are better brakes out there but these were definitely up to the task.

I just sold the bike. Here's the break down.
Bike. $60
Rims. $30
Hubs $30
Spokes $20
Brakes $29
Derailleurs $16
Seatpost. $8
Tubes. $12
Total. $205

I sold it for $325 and I'm trying to sell the old wheels for $30. That's a $120 profit and hopefully the wheels will sell making it a $150 profit. For me this is more about having fun than making money but the money does help move the hobby forward.

I should also mention that the shifters/leavers and stem came from my parts bin. I didn't mind moving them on as I would have never used them on a personal bike.
