2000 Stumpjumper M4 possibly breaking?

Hey, here I'm listing on behalf of my Dad his two Specialized bikes. The first one is a 1999 FSR in 17.5,good condition and rides well.

Here's the spec

RS Judy C
Tioga headset
Modern Specialized 31.8 bars/stem with Raceface grips
Hope c2 brakes
Mavic 131 Ceramic wheels on Hope Bigun hubs
Deore M590 gears 27 speed
Specialized seatpost and seat

The second bike is a very condition 2000 Stumpjumper comp M4 in 18"
