2000 Klein Adroit Race - Cable guide end stop

Hi guys, I'm after a bit of advice. I've got a year 2000 Klein Adroit Race, and I need to replace the rear brake cable. I've read countless threads on here about using vacuums and magnets, but a lot of them mention removing the outer cable end stop. I didn't think this was possible - if it is, that would make my life much easier, since I'll be working with a ~6mm hole instead of a 2mm hole!

How does one go about removing them?
