20+ Years out of retirement

My 653 Raleigh has not been on the road for 20+ years. Back in the day I won a few road races on this bike. I gave it a dust, pumped up the tires and lubed the chain and went for a ride on it today for old times sake. I cant believe how nice and smooth it felt and the drivetrain was as smooth as butter. It took some getting used to down tube shifters and a 13-18 block but it brought back many happy memories. The only thing that was less than perfect were the brakes but they did get better as the ride went on. I suppose the rubber had glazed a bit in 20+ years.

As far as fit goes I dont think I have ever managed to get a bike that fit me so well. I instantly felt comfortable on it.

Looks very smart and it's always nice to find an old ride still fits as you remember and surprises with the ride.
