Beautiful restoration job.
I suspect that the reason Trek aren't held in higher esteem is to do with their ubiquity. A bit like the Ford of the bike world. Trek over time have done some really interesting and innovate stuff (as well as a load of middle of the road Escort and Fusion equivalent dross!). OCLV BITD, the current Domane to name but two. I had a Trek District single speed with Gates Carbon belt drive. Loved it (niggly BB aside). Until it got nicked. And Mrs WR has an old Trek with Judy's that does the job very well. Even if it is a bit more 1.6l Focus compared to your 8700 SHX Escort Cosworth!
