1st bike. Islabikes Rothan or Spesh Hotwalk?

Looking at getting a bike for my 2 year old (3 in March). I like the idea of s balance bike so have been looking at either the islabikes rothan or the specialized hotwalk. The only real difference I can see is the presence of a brake on the rohan, but I'm not sure he'd know how to use it anyway!

Does anyone have experience of either of these? I can't decide

Cheers,
Matt

The Islabikes have fantastic resale values.

Might be worth joining the CTC forum and sticking an ad up there.

For my son's 3rd birthday, I bought him a Ridgeback MX-14 (that had front and rear v-brakes). He didn't touch them for ages, and even now uses them in a kind of binary fashion.

I got him a Islabike Beinn 20 (the small one), for his 5th birthday - although he hasn't yet properly ridden it.

No2 Son got a Rothan and was flying around by the time he was 2 1/2. He's now moved up to a Cnoc, and other son has a Beinn.

I'd strongly recommend the Islabike. Isla also offers trade-in when moving to the next size up. Generally they go in the CTC site for around 60-70% of new.

+1 for the Islabikes, they have a great following on the CTC and like the man says, look after them and they have a far higher re-sale value than the others.
