1999 Santa Cruz chameleon

Ha, no worries. I finished the fork overhaul last night, although I'm not quite happy with the rebound cartridge. Even on the slowest setting, it seems really harsh and fast. I will take a closer look tonight after work. But I installed the crown race, fork, stem and wheels just to see what it'd look like. Took a low-light photo with my phone. Pardon the blurriness. I'll snap some better ones in daylight later on.

Love these, especially in that colour.

One of my mates had one back in '99 with Z1 Bams, a Kore B52 stem, Hope Big Uns, C2's etc. Was a great little bike. I had a Sid Blue one that unused as a DJ bike which was a hoot. I ran mine with Pikes and it didn't ride very nicely with them wound all the way down. It was much better around 100 - 130mm.

I've built up a little one for my other half too which also has Pikes on it, wound down to 100mm to keep the front end low as she's a bit short.

Long over due update. The chameleon is now complete. Pics below. Rode it yesterday. My only minor complaint is on the brake levers---they're the V-chipped Ultimates, not the 'L' version. I feel like they're either spongey or they need to be ridden too close to the rim. Might swap 'em out for an 'L' set at some point. Otherwise, eveything about the bike is perfect for me.

Looking good buddy.

Easton Cully's not seen a set of them for ages. I just remember them being the pedals to have a while ago. Bombproof things.

Thanks guys, fun indeed.

Love the Cully's. Back in 2001-2005, everyone I rode with used them. Glad my set survived.
