Wondering how much my 1999 Kona Caldera frame is worth.

It is in very good condition with some minor chainstay paint chips and one on the top tube where the handle bars have chipped it.

Recently purchased a 92 Xizang so this is surplus to requirements.

Re:

I've no idea tbh but I like the look of it, looks even better with P2 forks in my opinion... 8)
I think the Pipmeister on here would have an idea of the value!

Are you selling it completely or just the frame?

I'm not sure that I would be the best person to value this frame, but it is a stunning looking bike.

It sat above the Lava Dome, and below the Explosif in the Steel hierarchy in 1999 - the Cinder Cone having gone over the Aluminium that year. The bike was sold for £800 with Z4 forks or £650 with P2s.

The frame is 19" .

I haven't been able to find the geometry/ measurements of the 1999 Caldera and you can determine its size from a photo. Please teach me how! I'm going to look at a 1999 Caldera this weekend and the seller says it's 18", but I want to make sure. Can you tell from this photo or point me to a geometry chart? I've been reading a lot of your posts about 90's Konas and really appreciate your expertise!

For Kona's of this era, if you have access to the frame, measure the seat tube, centre of BB to the top of the tube, that will give you the size as Kona measured it. Unfortunately that year's catalogue didn't have a geometry chart, it wouldn't be too different from the 2000 frames though.

I would agree this one looks smaller than 18", but that could be down to the photo or slightly longer forks increasing the angle slightly.
