1999 cannondale Martyn Ashton signature full restoration.

Today has got me feeling like the
little boy i was back in 1999.

Finally I have my fully restored cannondale martyn Ashton signature frame set 1/500.
This has been one of the hardest projects I have undertaken. But it looks factory fresh again.

A shout out to the people who helped me get it looking factory again.

Time to get this built up and ridden.

another update!

NOS fsa yellow orbit fitted!

The sticker hasn’t lifted, it’s a shadow making it look like it has.

Also ran into a slight problem. 185mm steerer fatty r forks are a bit short!

Good job I have a spare set with 200mm steerer. More money on paint and decals, again! Doh!

I’ll take the fatties off your hands if it helps with the pain

I might let them go Pete…..

Wow, it keeps getting better and better. Is it possible to have the steerer extended by a welder to save yourself some hassle?

Thank you. For what it’s worth, it’s just probably easier to get my spare pair of forks with longer steerer painted up. Someone I know had their steerer extended and it cost them £75!

Got the wheels for the Ashton fully finished yesterday.

One of the skewers needs re anodising at some point where I snapped the skewer in the clamp, not really noticeable, but my ocd will haunt me. These skewers used to be black.

The rear cassette was caked and I mean caked in oil & grime, I have bought it back to new! Wish I would have taken before and after pictures. I do have a nos one with the same ratio but it was 9 speed, but this bike will run 8 speed.

Seriously happy with how these look! The 13 year old me back in 99 couldn’t afford these, neither can I today. I had to rob a bank to build these 🤣
