1997 ParkPre ALU Max

Hi All,

I've decided to put my old ParkPre ALU Max right (back to period parts).

Currently sporting shimano HONE, which was fun at the time, but I've obviously seen the light as the ParkPre's seem pretty rare. (image links fixed)

So now I am after a bit of advice:

While I have a few of the original parts, I'd like to built it as I would have at the time if I'd had the money. That means XTR M950/951.

I would love some Pulstar hubs, but those seem a bit hit and miss, quality wise.

I am however looking at the cranks in particular - the XTR ones of the period seem to have a high number of teeth, and I am worried that I can not get hold of replacement rings.
Would I be better off with a period Race Face crank, perhaps?

Update:

I've stripped all the modern stuff back, apart from the headset which is an M-Part component and is actually in good condition.

I have no idea whether or not to attempt to source a period headset, given that this one looks almost exactly like the original...

I have already acquired a very nice set of wheels, bottom bracket, cranks and my desired Magura HS33's from wadsy.

I'm currently trying to work out how to salvage and store the decals.
Does anybody have some advice for me on this?

I may need some new ones making up (as it's entirely possible that I will destroy some during removal), I have read good things about a guy called Gil on here, any good way of contacting him?

Once done, paint to colour matched by a local shop, then I can strip it and sort out any dings and scratches.

More parts have arrived, so have started trial fitting...

Not entirely sure what happened to my handlebars - they are a bit wavey??

Looks like I'll be needing some new ones.
