Well it always seems to me that I'm drivelling on and wittering when I should really be making with the pics haha!

The most amusing part of it is that I was actually talking to myself whilst out on the bike almost telling myself my own opinion on it as I rode, but it's nice to know I carried the feel of the bike well when I put it into words, see all those years reading the wrecking crew write ups from mbuk weren't misspent it would seem lol!

Well i thought initially while reading that you were just conveying your thoughts from your ride so i found it rather refreshing tbh and i felt your points were coming across quite clearly and any way it's good to see i'm not the only one that thinks about the quirks of the bike while out on a ride and what needs to be replaced .

Yes you sumned up the feel of the bike with very little effort or so it appears and wether the wrecking crew had any influence in the way you put your explanation across on how a bike rides well you may of picked a few ideas up off them but reading their reivews never improved mine ,,

Re:

Don't you just love coming home from work to find 'things'

The first of some replacement bits have arrived, nice new set or sets, of brake pad inserts and I've ordered some replacement Ti bottle cage bolts as the steel ones currently on have discoloured and are going a little rusty, can't wait for them to arrive, but for now...

Re:

And after the new pads arrived the other day, I came home from work yesterday to find these...

So with a beer in hand and the sun shining brightly, this afternoon consisted of this....

Was a little gutted to be pulling the Michelin's off as they're pretty much brand new but the cracked sidewalls mean they're not fit to be used actually on the trails unfortunately, but you simply can't beat reissue smoke and darts for newness and period accuracy in my opinion :-)
Might get the mtrax and the konas and the proflex out for some pics tomorrow if the weather stays nice!

congrats! ti is ti, regardless if it's a Raleigh or not. no shame in that! enjoy it! 8)

Aye no shame in it being a Raleigh in my eyes, I had a Raleigh Max cromo II in my youth and rode the arse out of it and upgraded things to an interesting mix of stx-rc lx xtr and some hope stuff too!
This rides bloody lovely and that was with underperforming brake pads and tyres that weren't particularly confidence inspiring so I'm looking forward to seeing how she goes after having both replaced :-)

Looking very smart indeed 8) so are you testing em later then mate ? ..

Good morning, sadly no test of them as yet, I've got a brand new set of reissue's on my 93 kilauea as well and I've not ridden that since they've been on either, waiting for dry trails and nice weather, which we definitely have this morning looking outside, now I just can't decide which I want to take out most now haha!

Thought I'd start a thread in here rather than bumping a now obsolete thread in the for sale section.
Spotted this early on in the week after being tipped off that it was local and fell in love immediately and decided to start googling how much black market kidneys sell for, had a chat with the sellers to make sure it was my size and enquire if I could tempt them to end early, but as they'd already received a bid it wouldn't be fair to end so onward the auction ran (which is fair enough).
So there I am quietly keeping an eye on it and then to my horror my mate Will (kingoffootball) outed it in the eBay section on here and I thought all hope was lost, a few showed interest but I kept my hopes up and after discussions with others and a couple of interested parties on here it seemed I was clear to bid in relative comfort until with an hour to go I was outbid :-(
I sulked a little bit kept an eye on it and had mates messaging me urging me to bid as the seconds and minutes ticked by.
Then boom the auction ended and she was mine, then I realised having my tea in the pub and a few pints was a terrible idea as I couldn't go pick her up, messaged the seller to enquire about collection thinking how the hell am I going to wait all day at work tomorrow to go for it, then my mate rich stepped up to take me for her!!!

That was the Sunday night (last night) and today at work I have been clock watching all day waiting to come home and faff with the old girl, tighten a few cables and just sit and smile, now I know Raleigh Ti bikes aren't as sought after nor as exotic as Marin or merlin or GT Ti bikes, but after having always lusted after a Ti bike of any description I am over the moon to have one in my collection now!

Right essay over a couple of pics for you all.....

That's all for now, I'll keep this thread updated but she is going to remain relatively as she is now, maybe a pair of reissue smoke and darts as the conti's are cracked unfortunately so will have to be replaced but she probably won't be getting upgraded or changed as she's in absolute time warp condition!

That is lovely and from the time Raleigh made great bikes unlike now ! Good to know it will be kept as is although I think I'd remove the computer but that's just my own opinion :D

Thank you, I love it!
Computer and flat pedals have gone and spds are on, look back a few replies as it's now wearing reissue smoke and darts, otherwise it's pretty much the same apart from being a little cleaner than it was, it will be staying as it now is and will be getting ridden, but only on dry dusty trails, don't want any mud or grinding paste messing the old girl up :-)

Excuse me mate but we have had nothing but dry sunny weather here in the south Manchester area for this last week so are you telling me that the weather has been rather wet where you are and have
the trails you use been flooded by a local river at some point and are now drying out ..
